Video Game Blooper Reel

Mass Effect: Andromeda has launched and, despite some very ugly responses, there have been some very funny images and videos shared as a result of the questionable facial animations. Of course, if you purchase an AAA game you would not be in the wrong for expecting the best quality gaming experience but we cannot shirk the comical side of this. Given that EA will most likely rectify many of the problems that have been included in the negative feedback, the only thing left to do is enjoy the funny side whilst it lasts. So where does Mass Effect’s facial expressions stack up against other gaming blunders?

FIFA Glitches

Every year FIFA games seems to include some hilarious glitches whilst playing the game ranging from having no legs to the most unrealistic tumbles you will ever see if a football match! There are so many examples of in-game glitches over the past few years but the giant hands in FIFA 14 was a particular highlight for me!

GTA V Fails

GTA V is a guaranteed candidate for this list as there have been many times where players have experienced hilarious blunders in the game. Many Youtubers have made videos compilations of the best glitches during their game play. With so many moments to choose from it is hard to pinpoint one moment so I recommend you look these up yourself but here is one particularly funny moment.

Mass Effect: Andromeda

The original Mass Effect trilogy has received critical acclaim but they didn’t come without their fair share of problems. However, the latest Mass Effect release has set a new standard for hilarious facial expressions as the lead protagonist appears to have inexplicable moments of utter madness. Enjoy a collaboration of some of the best facial expressions in the game:

Assassin’s Creed Unity

Assassin’s Creed Unity’s infamous face glitch was not only extremely funny to witness but it was also incredibly unnerving. I don’t think there will ever be a time seeing an NPC character appear in the main with limited facial features will become ‘normal’. Looks like they took their inspiration from Mars Attacks!

As a newcomer to the Destiny franchise you would think this is a serious space shooter but there are some more laid back moments in the game such throwing shapes for all your friends. Some players took this in game dance emote a little too far when they realised they could dance on top on the sparrows in game. You will understand my surprise playing the game when you see a player fly past on a vehicle doing a dance!

  1. Video game bugs are a sad mixture between funny and disappointing. Sure, Mass Effect’s facial animations are hilarious, but they’re also a sign that this forty million dollar production failed to fix some very obvious problems.

    1. That is very true and I did not want to make it sound like we should just accept some pretty harrowing and game breaking bugs but sometimes you just have to see the funny side. This is part of the reason why I rarely buy games at launch anymore!

Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts 🙂

      1. Pre-ordering games is pretty dumb to me, too. Especially, when they can be as broken as some are nowadays. It’s best to wait for reviews and impressions to roll in.

      2. You, sir, are right! I think that is becoming more of the trend nowadays so may be we are not far away from pre-orders becoming obsolete!
