Tomorrow is the beginning of a new month and it is time to review which games you should be dedicating your time to! There is no time to continue battling knights with samurais or sneaking around the streets of Italy taking out enemies with a sniper! Have a look at this selection of games and make sure you pick up the ones that make you wish it was March already!
Legend Of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Platforms: Nintendo Wii U, Nintendo Switch
Release Date: 3rd March
Many Nintendo fans have been counting down the days for this release. To be able to play a new Zelda game on a portable device is also an exciting proposition that threatens to get a few people fired from work but much of this games success will rely on the success of the Switch console. Regardless, what we can see from the trailers is that this is a big open world with beautiful landscapes littered with your typical Zelda enemies. This formula does not appear to have changed for Breath of the Wild which means that the excitement around this game has never been higher! If you are an early Switch owner then how can this not be your first Nintendo game purchase! I will definitely be buying this game when I can justify the Switch console!
Ghost Recon: Wildlands
Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, PC
Release Date: 7th March
After trying the beta it appears that the latest Ghost Recon game to grace our gaming platforms will be one of the most adventurous Ghost Recon games in recent history. This may appeal more to some people than others but I enjoyed some of the differences. Since I was a big fan of the more recent Far Cry games it comes as no surprise that I am enjoying the open world aspect of this game and the stealth aspects of the game. It may not be ground-breakingly original but Ghost Recon: Wildlands offers a fun alternative to the standard first person shooter and if you enjoy playing games with your friends then you could do much worse than choosing this game as your next multiplayer game.
Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3
Platforms: Xbox One, PC
Release Date: 7th March
I remember playing the Marvel Vs Capcom games when I was younger and the animations were flashy (quite literally) but fun to watch. Typically I am not a big fan of remastered games but for Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3, I am willing to make an exception. Don’t buy this game for the updated graphics and smoother framerate, you need to buy this game for the entertainment! Who wouldn’t want to play as popular Capcom characters like Ryu and Ken and face off against Spiderman, Iron Man and The Hulk! I may not be saying ‘it’s the best fighting game ever’ but it is definitely one of the best! You may start off a rookie but in enough time you will be pummelling opponents just like the characters you probably idolised as a kid!
Mass Effect: Andromeda
Platforms: Xbox One, PS4, PC
Release Date: 21st March (North America), 23rd March (Europe)
This new Mass Effect game looks like a mash up of Halo, Destiny and Bioshock. If someone had told me that is what I was getting then I would simply throw cash at them in exchange for the game there and then! All three of those games insinuate this Mass Effect game will be amazing and the trailers definitely do a good job of showing it off but it is the dynamic movement and assortment of weapons ranging from more traditional to futuristic that make this game look like it will be a lot of fun to play. Not to mention the Bioshock-esque skills that can allow you to pull and push enemies, allow you to hover and go around setting people on fire look like a fun alternative to spamming your primary weapon throughout the game. If you haven’t already sat up and taken notice of this game then you should watch the trailer above and realise your mistake!
