Ubisoft Are Excited For The Nintendo NX

Nintendo have been keeping their cards close to their chest when it comes to revealing the new Nintendo NX console to the masses. With much anticipation and speculation surrounding this console release it is hard to imagine that they will produce another Wii U (although it would not be impossible). Many rumours initially claimed the console will be a hybrid between a modern console and a handheld console which is hard to depict exactly how a machine like this might operate. These rumours have recently been confirmed and now, with recent developers coming out and supporting the console, it is becoming slowly apparent that Nintendo might be about to launch a revolutionary way of gaming.

Ubisoft Hail ‘Fanatastic Machine’

Ubisoft CEO has recently spoken about his excitement for the new Nintendo console and has dropped a couple of hints as to what we should expect for the NX.

Yves Guillemot told IGN “What we see is that Nintendo has learned from the Wii U. All publishers learn from what they do, and then come with something new and more attractive, which I think is the case here.”

When quizzed about the console he said “I think the interface is very attractive. It’s a machine that will be easy to use for all gamers. They have built in something that will give us chance to really have a different experience from what exists today. That’s what I like – that they come with something new that is adapted to what we actually want now.”

All of the above is still very cryptic with no concrete information about what the console is exactly but there is a buzz surrounding this console launch. If Nintendo have implemented something truly innovative then it is understandable as to why they haven’t revealed more information earlier.

Pokemon Co. Are Good To Go

Ubisoft is not the only game developer that has spoken out about the NX with the Pokemon Company discussing the hybrid design of the NX.

“The NX is trying to change the concept of what it means to be a home console device or a hand-held device. We will make games for the NX.” Tsunekazu Ishihara told Wall Street Journal.

With Pokemon making such a dramatic comeback this year it will be exciting to see if any of the lessons learn from Pokemon Go could be utilised in the latest console. Many are still speculating if AR will be a main feature of the new NX console and we all know who brought that into prominence this year!

Games At Launch

There is already a strong case to buy a Nintendo NX even though we don’t know what the console is; the games. The Nintendo NX is expected to launch with The Legend of Zelda, Mario and Pokemon with Just Dance 2017 and Dragon Quest also announced for later release. There may not be much in terms of news on games for the NX which could very much be down to the mystery surrounding the console but even at this stage, there are some strong brands capable of helping make this new console a huge success.

With SEGA, Square Enix, Ubisoft, Activision and Warner Bros all on board to develop games for the console, we expect a very impressive selection of games by the time the console arrives on the market. If they also add more of Nintendo’s own titles such as Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, Donkey Kong or a Metroid game for launch then it may just be enough to turn me into a Day One purchaser.

When Will We Know More?

It is still unknown when we will find out more but one Reddit user has strategically pinpointed when Nintendo will reveal the NX. Hold onto your hats because their speculation is that there reveal will happen in the next few weeks. By using a basic algorithm based on Nintendo’s previous reveal dates, holidays and Nintendo investor meetings he has suggested the console reveal with happen on 4th, 11th or 18th October.

Hopefully we will see more details very soon as the trend of delaying gaming release has become far to real in Q4 of 2016 and it would be a shame if the Nintendo NX suffers the same fate as many others before launch.
