Must Buy Games in June 2016

May was a good month for new games. We have been treated to Doom, Overwatch, Unchartered 4 and so many more. Surely there can’t be more games left to look forward to in June 2016? As every gamer knows all too well, there is always another game to look forward to. See my top 4 new games coming next month:

One Piece Burning Blood

Although the One Piece anime may not be considered the most popular, it certainly has a loyal fan base and they are creating a buzz around this game. Now fans will have the opportunity to enter the battle ground with their favourite devil fruit users, haki users or just some badass characters.

Compared to other One Piece titles, this game makes a genuine attempt to show off popular special attacks from all of the characters in the One Piece universe. As a One Piece fan myself, I can’t wait to start using the Ultimate Finishers from some of the most iconic characters including Luffy’s Gear Fourth and Sanji’s Diable Jambe. I recommend you look out for when this game launches on the 3rd June 2016!

Platforms: Playstation 4, Xbox One, PS Vita, Microsoft Windows
Release Date: 3rd June 2016

Resident Evil: Umbrella Corps

The Resident Evil series is one of the longest running survival horror games in the gaming world and has built up a faithful fan base. However, I get the feeling Capcom are testing their hardcore fan base as this Resident Evil spin off has not been created with these players in mind.

The game has steered away from the norm and aligned itself more closely with competitive multiplayer shooters such as Call Of Duty. This does not necessarily spell bad news for Resident Evil fans as the concept of this game is unique, resulting in a fresh outlook on the tried and tested shooter model. You won’t just have to battle your friends (or randomers online) but also with hordes of zombies which sounds exciting to any zombie fan! This may just be a surprise success next month. Get your copy on 21st June 2016.

Platforms: Playstation 4, Microsoft Windows
Release Date: 21st June 2016

Mirror’s Edge Catalyst

Mirror’s Edge Catalyst has great promise showcasing a mix of the parkour movement system from Dying Light with game play not too dissimilar to Second Son. Despite some constructive criticism from PC gamers regarding the length of this game, you can’t argue that the game just looks incredible. It would be frowned upon to not at least appreciate the scenery during the game.

The PC version of this game received a Metacritic score of 81% which spells good news for those waiting for the xbox one version. If the trailer is anything to go by then this game will be a helluva lot of fun! Look out for this game on 7th June 2016.

Platforms: Playstation 4, Xbox One l, Microsoft Windows
Release Date: 7th June 2016

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens

After playing many of the LEGO themed games there is a ‘hit or miss’ mentality that I just can’t shake as some of the LEGO games have fallen very short of the mark but some have been very good. LEGO Jurassic World, for example, was thoroughly enjoyable with plenty of content and it looks like LEGO have done it again with the Star Wars: The Force Awakens game.

The success of the film is obviously a big help for this game but there are also signs of great game  play within the trailer. With a single player and multiplayer mode included this may just be one of the best LEGO games ever! If not, it still promises to be a fun game for all ages. Grab a copy on 28th June 2016.

Platforms: Playstation 4, Playstation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, PS Vita, Microsoft Windows
Release Date: 28th June 2016
